Mobile Meals

Health Prepared Meals - Delivered

Our Mobile Meals service provides home-delivered, prepared meals to homebound clients, enabling them to remain healthier and independent in their own homes, avoiding far more costly care-setting alternatives.
Each recipient receives 5 home-delivered meals each week, 52 weeks a year.

Mobile Meals Eligibility

  • Adults age 60 and older who are primarily homebound, unable to easily cook for themselves, lack consistent daytime assistance from another person, are able to accept meals during the delivery time frame, and meet eligibility criteria established by the Texas Health and Human Services Commission.

  • Short term service is available for those recuperating from serious illness, surgery, or other situations.

  • On a limited basis, disabled individuals under 60 and older adults not meeting HHSC guidelines, who meet income qualifying guidelines may be eligible for meals if funding is available.

  • Our service delivery area is Victoria County. On a case by case basis, depending on route proximity and funding availability, some limited exceptions may be possible.

We never turn a hungry senior away due to "too much" wealth or low income.

Healthy Meals, Made by Professional Chefs

Our menu is developed in collaboration with a registered dietician and designed to meet at least 1/3 of the recommended daily nutrient allowance (RDA) for senior adults.

Each meal is designed to taste good. In a world full of expensive meal kits and food delivery companies, our goal is to be the meal delivery service seniors want to receive, and who seniors can turn to whatever their means and expect the dignity of a tasty meal.

Who Delivers the Meals, When?

Each meal is delivered in a microwave-safe container by a trained staff driver or volunteer between 10:30 am and 1:30 pm.

Currently, meals are being delivered on a weekly basis, on Mondays for clients residing in the city limits of Victoria and on Wednesdays for clients residing in Victoria and DeWitt Counties.

What do Mobile Meals cost?

There is no charge for eligible clients provided adequate funding is available, but all clients are invited to make a voluntary contribution to share in the costs of providing meals. The suggested contibution is $3.00 per meal. If everyone with the means gives, we can expand services and continue to avoid a wait list.

For clients not meeting eligibility guidelines, private pay service is available, prepaid at $8.00 per meal.

Our goal is to make sure each client is getting the nourishment they need, and everyone who needs services, receives services.
