Dan Capone's involvement with Meals on Wheels South Texas began in 2011 when he and his children volunteered as Friday delivery drivers on what is now the Midtown route. In 2016 he made the leap from volunteer to Executive Director. He brings with him a passion for helping people, a background orchestrating organizational change gathered across a variety of contexts, and a focus on client experience as a decision driver. At Meals on Wheels South Texas, he has worked to increase program efficiency and effectiveness. In October 2024 he was named President and Chief Executive Officer. He has also been active with Meals on Wheels Texas, joining the board of the statewide association in 2019, and serving as president from 2021 - 2023.

Lenora Tollefson joined Meals on Wheels South Texas in November 2024 as the Senior Director of Programs and Community Engagement. In this role, she assists in managing and administering the agency’s programs. She oversees the daily operations of the Mobile Meals program, helps recruit and place necessary staff, establishes organizational structures, and delegates tasks and accountabilities. Additionally, she sets work schedules, supervises and coaches staff, and actively recruits, manages, and supports volunteers. Lenora also ensures that volunteers are organized to provide essential services to the community, feel appreciated and recognized, and that their skills and interests are matched with the organization’s needs.

Diana Alarcon has had an impressive journey with Meals on Wheels South Texas since she joined in April 2012. Starting as an assistant in the front office, she has taken on various roles over the years. Currently, as the Director of Administration, she plays a crucial role in managing the day-to-day office operations. Her responsibilities include overseeing daily data collection, file management, and ensuring accurate and timely reporting to funding sources. Additionally, she manages accounts payable, maintains vendor relations, and assists in tracking donor contributions and donation records.

Mina joined Meals on Wheels in December 2023. In her role, she is responsible for answering phone calls and greeting visitors. Additionally, she assists with organizing files and ensures that all client records are accurately maintained. These tasks are vital for ensuring the smooth operation of the organization and providing essential support to those in need.

Judy Guerrero joined Meals on Wheels South Texas in July 2024 as the Cafe Connection Yorktown Site Manager. 

Lillian Threadgill joined Meals on Wheels South Texas in July 2024 as a cook. She is responsible for overseeing the kitchen and food preparation for all our Congregate Programs. In her role, Lillian ensures that meals are prepared according to nutritional guidelines and safety standards. She manages the kitchen volunteers, coordinates meal planning and inventory, and collaborates with other team members to provide high-quality meals to our congregate clients. Her dedication and expertise play a crucial role in the success of our programs, helping to ensure that our clients receive nutritious and delicious meals every day.
